I feel no deep emotional affinity for the United States as a whole because it has never actually considered people like me full-fledged citizens with all of the inalienable rights and privileges it affords to its preferred demographics. So appeals to how brave it is to stay and fight feel hollow. Like, why does this country deserve me? Because otherwise it'll be "hollowed out by MAGA?" I've just been more and more aghast every day with every bit of news coming out about Microsoft's involvement and complicity in what's happening in Gaza. It's been sickening to read up on over the last few months and continues to be with each new piece of news that comes out about their involvement.

I've had a Series S since 2021 and have been a Gamepass Ultimate member since 2019 but that finally runs out next month and that'll be the end of my investment in the ecosystem.

I had bought the premium upgrade for South of Midnight at the beginning of April before I knew about what was happening but when I became aware of the BDS movement against Microsoft and what they were doing, I haven't touched it since. I've only played Clair Obscur on my console since then and nothing else (and even that I've bought on another platform) because I can't stomach even giving player metric data to Microsoft in light of what they're doing.

So my Series S will simply become a media centre for apps and nothing more. Any and all game purchases will be elsewhere on other platforms and none of which will be any of Microsoft's franchises.

Sure it sucks to know that I'll not be able to play the next Forza Horizon or the next Double Fine game but I can't support a corporation that's complicit in what they're doing. Money is tight for me currently and Gamepass was a way to navigate that a bit but if I have to be more selective about my gaming and wait to play things down the line (mainly indies releasing on the service like Blue Prince or Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo) so that I'm not supporting Microsoft then so be it.

World is in desperate need of more people like this right now. The fact Microsoft are lying about it is repulsive. UN just announced they expect 14,000 babies to die over the next two days unless baby food is allowed in. And the western press still can't call it what it is.

Its mostly just email and YouTube. I had a Gmail account for 20 years, mostly used for any and all shopping and website accounts. Moved a lot of it to Tuta, but there's still a lot of stuff connected to it. I noticed some shops don't recognise tutamail.com as well, but hopefully that will change. Also, I've had an Samsung phone for the last 4 years, so still on android. I'll weed them out eventually, but it'll take time. But something like youtube? There's no alternative to it, really.

If everyone cancelled their gamepass subscription tomorrow, Microsoft would 100% pay attention.

Wouldnt want slave labor and a literal genocide damper the hype for the shiny new plastic box.
