I appreciate that he actually offers transformative commentary, out of all the streamers he seems the most aware that it's his job to talk about what he's watching, and pause the video like clockwork once every 10 or 20 seconds, to the point of annoyance, but that's what's required to have a good argument that what you're doing approaches fair use

compare to hasan who just gets up and leaves for an hour, to profit from his audience watching someone else's video

Okay, I see what you're saying, but I don't like that tweet as a citation because;

a) he seems to be saying that hospital explosion was definitely an IDF attack when most credible sources have landed on it probably wasn't (and its a moot point anyway, because we have plenty of evidence the IDF will attack civilian infrastructure, its just that particular one probably wasn't them)

and

b) referring to Channel 4 news (who were an outlier on this) as "state media" to imply governmental control when they are generally both reliable and independent (exactly like the BBC) in a way that "non state media" like GB News or the Daily Mail fucking aren't

so the clip in that hour long "We all know Hasan is fucking awful, but you don't realise how bad unless you actually sit down and watch his horseshoe infowars" is... sorta misleading? as the veracity of that radio broadcast from the 2010 gaza flotilla attack is disputed (but I couldn't find a clear consensus on that, and, again, sort of moot because like so very much middle eastern stuff involving israel is a whole can of worms of bad actors, misinformation and propaganda, and plausible deniability of heinous actions sometimes justified more foten not by everyone involved).

And I'm still left wondering if his performative laugh is because he is scoffing at the audacity of perceived disinformation, or scoffing because he agrees with the sentiments and has cover to repeat it as a quotation

No, I get you.  Those clips went viral, and I just grabbed the first source I found.   From the quick look I saw from that video, Hasan just repeated the IDF’s alleged Hamas call verbatim and laughed at it because he believes the public clip has credibility problems flagged a lot of people who he probably earnestly trusts to have some expertise in judging its linguistic credibility for Gaza.    I don't know if he was endorsing the content of the call itself.  Maybe he was?  He is a shitstain, afterall.   Maybe Channel 4 is biased, but their forensic analysis seemed interesting.  And after the flotilla incident, Israel actually acknowledged editing radio recordings it released, so it's not like they're against doing stuff like that.  I'm just going by the most straightforward reading which is he’s just parodying the perceived manipulation of the released “intercept” call.    I don't really have a sophisticated answer.  And fwiw, I'm a nobody, but the cadence and phrasing just feel staged...I don't know, the pacing is off for a real authentic conversation and passes as unnatural, and the back‑and‑forth sounds performed rather than spontaneous.  But I could be imagining that.
