I'm having a bit of a hard night honestly. All my life I've always felt a bit of an outcast on my dad's side of the family. He passed away recently and that side has reconnected with my brother quite well. The family from time to time tries to reach out and sometimes I respond and sometimes I don't so it's not entirely them for blame. But I'm just different than them all they made crude jokes and our interests are different so conversations don't last long. This is same with my brother growing up we weren't super close but hoped I'd get better but never really did. Always just sees me as the little brother and only talks to me about my dad's stuff anytime I ask how they're doing (wife, kids) get vague answers. I found out he came down to my city where all my family is and didn't tell me till the next day. They're family issues between my mom and him but i guess that's tainted me as well. Anyways bought a house a month and half ago he's never come by to see it or help. I also got a new niece and anytime I FaceTime with him he just doesn't show me the family. Today I find out that my dads side of the family went to a football game with my brother and my sister in law's family. Just been crying for a bit since I feel like I'm a decent person and while I suck at texting I always pick up phone calls right away. It's just crummy to think my blood family is pretty much non existent besides my mom. It's crummy feeling you're not wanted and you kinda feel like anything could happen to me and my blood family would careless. It didn't help that I was at a friend child's birthday party today and seeing families join in together makes me sad I don't have that really.

Yesterday the Supreme Court decided to fuck over half a million people and gave the Trump administration the go ahead to strip TPS for Venezuelans even though a federal judge and the Ninth Court of appeals made a final judgement on our favor(law scholars are in shock because SCOTUS has basically never stayed a final decision in a shadow docket)

I have been leaving in the US for 24 years. I graduated in 2013 from the University of South Florida with a BS in computer engineering. I have a good paying job as a IT Professional working with the Court Administration for one of the Florida's Judicial Circuit which I'm going to lose.

I don't know what to do. I feel like a complete failure because in all these years I wasn't able to even get partner to marry and form a family and maybe get paper this way but alas.

I haven't sleep tonight thinking what I'm going to do.

I came here in 2001 on a tourist visa and overstayed. Was undocumented until Biden Admin gave us TPS.

They would argue that their interest group obsession is simply the means to the end which is the same as the regular liberalism: equal freedom for all people.

Nepenthe fundamentally rejects this because all that matters to her is how to bring about a situation where one group, herself, dominates all others. "Liberalism" of any form can't offer anything to "Black people" for her because she believes what Black people "need" is the global mass murder and permanent impoverishment of billions. And anything less will continue to be "violence" against "Black people" aka her. Only a system in which Nepenthe is always prioritized can be acceptable to Black people.

I don't need to tell you yet again that Black people don't agree with her but I will because it's important. Black people do not agree with her. They support American liberalism, they support America, they support capitalism, they support police, they oppose violence, etc. They do not want to start a race war because they're good people and they aren't stupid like Nepenthe. Because that's generally what you hear about whenever you read about war hostages through most of history. But that's not funny, so I changed it to execution. 

Even the fact they're doing these flotillas shows how dishonest all the narratives are. You wouldn't do this if you really believed the propaganda about Israel. You especially wouldn't do it over and over every chance you get. They know they aren't getting through, they know Israel is going to scoop them up because they have a duty to, etc. The entire point is to be as hostile to them as possible when this happens so hopefully something will happen, but not anything too bad. Hilarious_Bearious Melody Shreds I actually just tried to watch Mrs. Doubtfire the other day and ... found it a tough watch. Like, it's not the worst. But there is the already mentioned job interview scene (it goes "I don't want to work with little boys because I used to be one, teehee" basically). The other stuff like dancing to "Dude Looks Like a Lady" is whatever to me. But midway through the movie the two older kids find out it's their dad in drag.

This sequence ... is really fucking rough. Like, trigger warning rough. The brother walks in on "Mrs. Doubtfire" peeing while standing in the bathroom. He then screams and runs to his older sister to shout about some ~pervert dude in drag and how Mrs. Doubtfire definitely has "all the equipment" -- implying that he saw everything, while the audience only saw the stream of pee. Feels really weird typing that, but the brother strongly emphasizes the genitals here. The brother demands they call the cops and is only calmed down when the dad finally comes in the room to reveal that he is just their dad, and not actually a sex pervert. Even then, he is still visably disturbed to see his dad in drag, and doesn't even want to be touched by him on two different occasions in this scene: first with turning down a hug and then very reluctantly bringing his hand into a group circle as the two siblings and the dad promise to keep the whole thing a secret. Contrast this with earlier sequences where I don't exactly remember if the father and son touched affectionately, but I don't recall the son acting all macho or no homo or whatever previously; he was equally as warm to the dad as the other two siblings and had no reason to act differently until this scene.

Man, like, I'm obviously biased, being a trans guy and all, but I just can't imagine being some ten year old (?) boy and running straight to the sex-pervert-panic zone if I accidently ran into some (what appears to be a) woman standing while peeing. I honestly think I would just be confused, maybe curious. This scene just completely rubbed me the wrong way. It felt real ugly to me. Between this, and finding the parts where the dad interacts with the ex wife's love interest to be complete cringe, I gave up on this movie when it got to what I presume to be the final act (the birthday/interview restaurant sequence)? I just had no will to finish this movie, even though I'd been meaning to see it for years cause everyone regards it as a classic, and I hate quitting movies when I've already put time into watching them. And I don't mind sitting through... uh... should we call them awkward queer movies?? Like Tootsie. I enjoy Tootsie (but I wouldn't say it's perfect).

I dunno. I guess I'm sorta bumping a thread here but felt the need to give at least someone who might read this thread a warning about that scene in Doubtfire because it was pretty rough. I know this game only came out 6 months ago but I got kinda stuck in trying to really understand the controls and combat and user interface, but once I had invested a few hours, it all flows in such a satisfying way with the Anvil engine that I just have to gush about it here.

The painstaking detail in every ounce of this game needs to be praised and recognized. From being able to breathe through a reed in shallow water as you alligator-style stalk your pray, to the incredibly accurate lighting of traditional Japanese wooden doors that leads to really interesting corridor AI gameplay with stealth, to the individual leaves of every Autumn wind cluster blowing separately in its little piles, while the grass and trees sway and flow in their own individual directions. Every aspect of Japanese feudal culture is infused into the towns, any building with an openable wooden door is explorable, and finally, the climbing and combat system just "flow and work" in a way that is so, SO satisfying. To kill one of the daisho, I had to lower the combat difficulty to "Story" to finally beat him (literally tried for 2 days, but he had poison darts and was lvl 12 and really hard), and I love that I had that difficulty option. I love hearing the traditional Japanese voice acting, I love seeing the random rituals, songs and dances out of ancient instruments and costumes, and the fearsom warrior masks the military uses to seek you out. It's all gushing with loving detail that only the giant budgets and swaths of personnel of a publisher like Ubisoft can really invest, but this game is truly a love letter to anyone that loves stealth and action combat gameplay and wants to feel like the cartoon ninja of their dreams in terms of abilities, like cartwheeling off a roof to leap prone into the bushes and assassinate someone instantly. I've been waiting maybe 2 decades for this since Altair in AC1's clunky climbing system: I've wanted traversal, movement, combat, stealth, action, assassination, investigation, eavesdropping, and all of that to just "work" and not be hidden behind mostly other gimmicks like an Eagle. Now the formula finally sunk its teeth into me. The series works, climbs, runs, and kills all like I finally imagined it to work in my dreams for this series. I highly encourage people who got tired or bummed out of the AC formula to revisit the series with Shadows and see what you think. It really surprised me!

Now to be fair, I'm very biased: I am now revealing that I have a monster PC setup, so I don't know how much of this is visible to the player with lower lighting and graphics settings. I recorded some of my temple gameplay in 4K 60 FPS, though with FrameGen, I'm getting 180+ frames with my RTX 5090, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 96 GB of DDR5 XMP 6600 MHz RAM, with some overclocking turned on. So I get to set everything in the game to Ultra, and the latest Nvidia drivers, which I show off here, seemed to eliminate a lot of traversal stutter I was previously experiencing. So I recently LTTP/RTTP this game and have been clearing out assassinations and I'm having so much fun! Wanted to show off some corridor/temple/stealth/assassination gameplay with brief glimpses of the graphics. I have more video I can share later of traversal of the forestry which is just FUCKING UNREAL on max Anvil settings. Hope you enjoy the video.

"Liberalism" of any form can't offer anything to "Black people" for her because she believes what Black people "need" is the global mass murder and permanent impoverishment of billions. And anything less will continue to be "violence" against "Black people" aka her. Only a system in which Nepenthe is always prioritized can be acceptable to Black people.

I don't need to tell you yet again that Black people don't agree with her but I will because it's important. Black people do not agree with her. They support American liberalism, they support America, they support capitalism, they support police, they oppose violence, etc. They do not want to start a race war because they're good people and they aren't stupid like Nepenthe. They're a minority, they would lose a race war. Nepenthe knows this so all her fantasies have to involve white people like Klein doing the violence for her. And it offends her that he rejects this and aligns himself instead with normal people including Black people. That's why he's useless, and worse offensive, to her, he refuses to be the means for her ends. She needs Coates to agree by refusing himself to engage in politics that might work so the only choice left to him or anyone else is her solution: mass violence of all against all.

And I must remind people that Charlie Kirk was not a Nazi. This is important because Nepenthe is trying to justify violence through the label. You just label anyone you want a Nazi and now you're allowed to murder them. It's legitimate resistance once you've labeled them. And you're not allowed to question the label, it's been given and now you must act accordingly. She wants mass violence, from others against others, because she's worthless, unimaginative and cruel. She's more a traditional Nazi than Charlie Kirk ever was. Her beef with Hitler is who he prioritized, she doesn't even disagree that the "collective nation of Jewish people" need to answer for "what they've done" to everyone else. She doesn't disagree with the Nazi belief that certain people have a specific place they're supposed to be and need to go "back" where they "belong" that magically and ahistorically exempts people she personally likes from this "dialectical" order. And she absolutely does not disagree with the Nazi belief that liberalism (and capitalism) is a scourge that must be destroyed with active political violence or we'll all suffer an apocalyptic death.

When I read that "they did everything imaginable to her" and the Era post "abused pretty badly" that was basically the first thing I thought of. Oh, they gang raped her and left her for dead. Even the fact they're doing these flotillas shows how dishonest all the narratives are. You wouldn't do this if you really believed the propaganda about Israel. You especially wouldn't do it over and over every chance you get. They know they aren't getting through, they know Israel is going to scoop them up because they have a duty to, etc. The entire point is to be as hostile to them as possible when this happens so hopefully something will happen, but not anything too bad. They know Israel won't kill them, won't disappear them, won't even really beat them.

Think about if you really believed your rhetoric, there's a genocide, a valid resistance and anything Palestinians do is moral. Why aren't they running guns? "Oh, that would be wrong, we'd get in trouble." "The weapons wouldn't get to Gaza." "People wouldn't donate to that." Yeah, I know.

Klein thinking that political violence against the elites is somehow an attack on us all, the fact that he can only see political violence within the realm of targeting politicians or political elites like himself ("I thought about Pelosi, Shapiro, Trump, and you"), and not the systemic violence that Black people go through everyday and have gone through everyday throughout our centuries'-long dialectical history with white people (which Coates brought up) is fundamentally why I hate liberalism.

There is nothing within this philosophy for the Black person beyond a black hole where the revolutionary and humanist energy we need to save ourselves goes to simply vanish. We are not considered part of liberals' political purview because we are already so colonized and oppressed by the system they seek to maintain that there is no point to consideration towards us. Essentially, every other social fight liberals wage is essentially a fight for the groups lucky enough to be given consideration and "representation" to not to be niggerized, a fight to not end up like us, not to actually save Black people from the conditions with which liberals ultimately agree should continue to exist. When they're fighting for access to healthcare, they're not fighting for Black people because our healthcare has been fucked forever. When they're fighting for affordable housing, it's so the peoples who deserve to be housed don't end up in the hoods or on the streets like we are.

Klein does not give a shit about people like me. He cares about politicians and capitalists. Violence against them is over the line. Violence against people like me is so normalized and part of the fabric of life that when he sees Kirk- who I must remind people was a fucking Nazi- getting blown away, we don't even enter in his head. There's no space within his head for Black people at all. It's like nothing.
