5 was my first fast movie and still my favorite. Of the movies before it completely left reality and physics behind Tokyo Drift is pretty solid (I think that’s 3)
I watched 4 and 5 on the plane into LA. 4 was ok. 5 is just wtf, is this even the same series? Both were fun, but you can see the upwards trajectory of crazy.
For sure, and every movie after had to top the last one, the stopped a giant ass plane from taking off with cars, then they fought a nuclear submarine, and eventually one movie had a side mission that ended up driving a car in space to take out a satellite. Haven’t watched Fast X yet cause 9 was pretty meh, in fact I don’t even remember what that was about except I think Cena was the bad guy turned good guy. They are still good turn off your brain and enjoy popcorn flicks though.

It may sound silly but they really lost some heart when Paul Walker died. I wouldn't be surprised if he also kept Vin's ego in check

Fast 7 was really the perfect ending. Vin and cgi Paul Walker racing while that Wiz Khalifa song played before splitting up at the fork in the road.
And then it kept going. However I forgive them because they brought back Han. And now Gisele.

I highly recommend getting kids stupid gifts, they will always remember them
I mean you still get them whatever normal gifts you will get them, but on top of that get something simple and unexpected
years ago I got my nephew a container of bacon bits and he still remembers it fondly and talks about it, more than any other toy or Switch game I got him...I think part of that is like, in what context will a kid ever own their own bacon bits? it's always the family's bacon bits, but these were his so he got to use them on whatever he liked
this year I got them cans of spam, and their dad fried it up and they had some spam sandwiches for christmas lunch and actually really enjoyed it, they'd never had spam before
Merry Christmas fellas. Today was rough but beautiful.
When I came over to my parents they were sad and hopeless. I asked what was going on and the new neighbours had started construction work at 8AM on Christmas day. Grinding machines, drills, the works. As soon as I heard the first noise I marched straight over to the guy next door and nearly kicked his door in because he was so slow to open. Asked him if he thought it was necessary to do construction work on fucking Christmas day. He shrugged gave me some bullshit about how he was moving in a month and wanted to get as much done as possible and he didn't celebrate Christmas anyway. I think it was some kind of half breed dimwit and was just about to ask him if he was retarded. His father in law came over, a smarter man and he apologized.
After that not a peep from next door all day which cheered my parents up. I saved Christmas.
Got my parents a sculpture of a bird considering the real bird died this year and they're not getting a new one. My dad is in bad shape 134lbs at this point, coughing fits again and quickly tired. My mom in a better position mentally than she has been in a while. She actually asked him if he wants to move but he doesn't because of all his stuff. Overall we had a great breakfast and dinner.
It's going to be difficult but I'll soon have to start the conversation with my old man about how he feels and if he's really in a bad shape his last wishes. His bonus time is running out. It's not going to be years I can tell that much. He talks different too, less talk about how he is proud of me but rather how he wants me to be happy. I want to know what he wants before any mental decline sets in.
Tommorow we'll have a second dinner at a Chinese restaurant. My personal trainer actually convinced me of that because I wanted to skip the Chinese buffet as I figured it would be nice for them to just be with the two of them. But his bro logic is a good antidote for my overthinking. Chinese food is great for proteins bro and your parents love you bro.
