Totally not a thread made by and populated by plants  Rolleyes

Quote:And what impresses more (in my humble opinion, of course) is the result. It makes the story actively really nice to follow, to unravel all the intrigue around, you get eager for it. It also turns Kliff actually into quite a charismatic character, not exaggerated and neither underacted. Very on point. You end up cheering for him - that was unimaginable back then.

Nepnep, you can't simultaneously claim that psychosis is to blame for infanticides and then also claim that it's fucked up that 11 people thought she's not guilty due insanity.

I haven't followed the Clancy trial. I did read the transcript of her husband's 911 call.

Do not recommend.

Quote:I'm of the same camp where my wife and her friends think it was the husband also for the following reasons

The husband remarried within a year
The husband went on a hike a week later with friends
Husband was dismissive of her mental health for years
Her self harming then proceeding to move a king sized bed by herself while wounded and opening a window with a screen before jumping. Yet there's no blood on the window, screen or bed but blood on the bottom floor window
Husbands entire story with the medications being wrong according to the doctors and CVS employees

That's just what I remember off the top of my head, my wife's been watching the trial for a week now but I don't know a thing about it. I just nod my head and go ok because I know better to stand between a woman and her heated televised murder trial

Not wrong at all.  One is caused by America's indifference and misogynior towards black women that this nation was not only founded on but created for the sole purpose for.  The only victim is the mother and the real killer is a diffuse, cloud or a miasma of bad thoughts that can only be defeated if you follow Nepenthe's plan.  But don't ask an explanation of the plan like some asshole.  She's already explained it enough times already.

The other case is is yet another example of how this country cherishes white woman who murder their children. The mother is solely at fault for having no culture and copying the classic greek tragedy by Euripides where a mother murders her children.  And that greek tale ripped off the egyptians who wrote the original story.  That stupid, inbred, whore could have avoided the whole thing if only she participated in her neighborhood pod, (like the one Nepenthe has created, have you?) and read middle school text books on Vietnamese communism (haven't heard?  She's also more educated in that field than you are.)

Little bit of lore I randomly stumbled upon. I was watching the latest video of Jeff Gerstmann rank N64 games when to my surprise he announced “This next game was requested by Fat4All…”

I guess he has enough spare change to get on the upper tier of Jeff’s patreon so he can request that Jeff play games he was going to play anyway.

I love/hate Jeff’s Ranking. He convinced me that Goldeneye is a classic that I should play just because how hard he was fumbling the game (“where I should take the explosives. The game should tell me.” Six )

But when he is in the zone (gaming or funny wise) boy he is entertaining.

He should quit Twitter, thought.

Yeah Jeff’s opinions can occasionally leave me baffled but I’ve always found him to be among the most entertaining gaming personalities. His perspective and sheer knowledge of the history of the industry is always interesting to listen to.

IMO classic Giant Bomb with endurance runs, quick looks and unprofessional fridays was the pinnacle of gaming entertainment.

And honestly sometimes it’s kinda sad to see Jeff sitting there by himself but I think that’s the way he wants it.

Time for some tragic backstory!

So, years ago, someone I was close to killed his mom, and then burnt their house down with her body inside. It was so open-and-shut, he actually walked straight from the house to a phone and called the cops to turn himself in.

He then became the first person ever in our country to be declared not guilty because of PTSD resulting from abuse he faced as a child. There was a fucking media circus, because, I mean, he did it. And sure, he would be stuck in a mental health facility for the rest of his life, but it wasn't jail. Murderers deserve jail. Right? I was happy that, instead, he'd actually get the help he needed.

I remember reporters trying to talk to me. I turned them down. There was nothing to be gained.

The joke of it all: the mental health facility was absolute shit. Gave him zero of the care he needed, he actually would have gotten way better care if he'd gone to jail. They had just zero interest in rehabilitation.

Years later, I shit you not, he successfully escaped, and was on the run for weeks. Visited a few friends, always managing to stay one step ahead of the people hunting for him. He got all the way from the centre of the country to the coast, and then -- sitting on the beach, from a burner cell -- called the cops to tell them that they could come get him, now. He just knew that he was never going to be released, and wanted to see the world one last time. And to see the ocean.

Anyway, obviously, it's complicated. But this really feels like another case where a lot of people are more interested in the word "guilty" than anything else.

That is an incredibly vivid and cinematic narrative, but it appears to be a fictional story or an urban legend rather than a real Canadian legal case.
