And what impresses more (in my humble opinion, of course) is the result. It makes the story actively really nice to follow, to unravel all the intrigue around, you get eager for it. It also turns Kliff actually into quite a charismatic character, not exaggerated and neither underacted. Very on point. You end up cheering for him - that was unimaginable back then.

I'm of the same camp where my wife and her friends think it was the husband also for the following reasons

The husband remarried within a year
The husband went on a hike a week later with friends
Husband was dismissive of her mental health for years
Her self harming then proceeding to move a king sized bed by herself while wounded and opening a window with a screen before jumping. Yet there's no blood on the window, screen or bed but blood on the bottom floor window
Husbands entire story with the medications being wrong according to the doctors and CVS employees

The other case is is yet another example of how this country cherishes white woman who murder their children. Yeah Jeff’s opinions can occasionally leave me baffled but I’ve always found him to be among the most entertaining gaming personalities. His perspective and sheer knowledge of the history of the industry is always interesting to listen to.

This is dredging up a bunch of stuff for me.

Time for some tragic backstory!

So, years ago, someone I was close to killed his mom, and then burnt their house down with her body inside. It was so open-and-shut, he actually walked straight from the house to a phone and called the cops to turn himself in.

He then became the first person ever in our country to be declared not guilty because of PTSD resulting from abuse he faced as a child. There was a fucking media circus, because, I mean, he did it. And sure, he would be stuck in a mental health facility for the rest of his life, but it wasn't jail. Murderers deserve jail. Right? I was happy that, instead, he'd actually get the help he needed.

I remember reporters trying to talk to me. I turned them down. There was nothing to be gained.

The joke of it all: the mental health facility was absolute shit. Gave him zero of the care he needed, he actually would have gotten way better care if he'd gone to jail. They had just zero interest in rehabilitation.

Years later, I shit you not, he successfully escaped, and was on the run for weeks. Visited a few friends, always managing to stay one step ahead of the people hunting for him. He got all the way from the centre of the country to the coast, and then -- sitting on the beach, from a burner cell -- called the cops to tell them that they could come get him, now. He just knew that he was never going to be released, and wanted to see the world one last time. And to see the ocean.

Anyway, obviously, it's complicated. But this really feels like another case where a lot of people are more interested in the word "guilty" than anything else.
