Owen's "basic point" is stupid. Everywhere on Earth had already been claimed well before then so Zionism in "practice" meant at the expense of someone's claim. And people like Owen recognize dominion over lands not even settled, for example the Americas were mostly empty and settled areas were contested between many peoples, but people like Owen still make any colonialism in it verboten on behalf of a collective imagined people who didn't possess the land.

And this is beside that the Ottoman's allowed Jewish immigration because nobody else wanted to live there. If the recognized sovereigns (the Ottoman's and then the British) claims and permissions are to be ignored then by what standard do the Palestinians have any claim to any land? The Palestinian claim is based on the same thing as Israel's, the UN's partition. The whole thing could have just been Jordan.

I'd really like to hear an example from him of what exact ethnic or religious group is allowed their own homeland and how that doesn't come at the expanse of other people.

"I support ethnostates but I'd never ever support an ethnostate that enforces being an ethnostate"

makes no sense.

And all of that doesn't even address how it's pretty arguable whether Israel even qualifies as ethnostate.

These people have a sense that knows when a people "belong" where they are that's basically just based around vibes and if it feels like it to them. The idea of "land back" is fundamentally nonsense because it supposes that any people somehow came into legitimate ownership of the land previously based on no evidence. Even the "pristine" claims of the Americas are based on ignorance, for all we know the tribes in America came across the land bridge and slaughtered everyone who was here. Humans genocided the Neanderthals everywhere. They need this kind of logic because they can't construct another method in which colonialism or settler colonialism or even just dispossession is illegitimate since that threatens the underlying premises of a bunch of their other beliefs.

I think it's fine to call Israel an ethnostate, it legally prioritizes Jewish people. This is largely benign historically for ethnostates and also currently in the world. None of these people object to China even though it does the same thing with the Han supermajority. And China doesn't allow the same level of rights to the minorities or even the majority citizens as Israel does. There are all kinds of supposed non-ethnostates in the world that are ethnostates in practice, especially in Africa, but nobody gives a shit. Israel is somehow beyond the pale despite being better and more democratic than those.

It's really just that they don't think "those people" can be any better whereas Israel is Western enough that it's fair game to criticize.

Quote:The German Greens have officially distanced themselves from the Green Party of England and Wales over its "Zionism is Racism" resolution. translated:
"This resolution contradicts the principles of the European Green Party (EGP), which is committed to a two-state solution and peaceful coexistence in Israel and Palestine.
The resolution also runs counter to our convictions and core values as Bündnis 90/Die Grünen: we stand firmly for Israel's right to exist.. »
The EGP brings together 39 independent Green parties. We welcome the fact that the GPEW will soon lose its voting rights in the European Green Party in any case."

There is something tothat in left policy. They have a Trump zero-sum view to all transactions and trade so their economic policy eschews any type of growth for redistribution.

Que en:

Quote:Men shouldn't be in women's and girls' changing rooms, period. There is no test in existence to determine whether a man is or is not a threat to women before he's committed an assault. Innumerable men who claim to be women have sexually assaulted women. A simple Google search will give you the names and histories.

Men as a group pose a threat to women, as a group. The statistics don't change when the men identify as women. On the contrary, there are currently more trans-identified men in jail in the UK for sexual offences than there are among the general male prison population.

The reason this man was able to access unclothed women is that Planet Fitness thought it was progressive to let men into women's single-sex spaces. Women have been warning for years that women and girls would be harmed if corporations and institutions decided to placate the trans lobby and admit men to changing rooms and public bathrooms. These sexual assaults were entirely preventable. I repeat: I hope the women who've been assaulted sue.

re: "He defied @PlanetFitness policy by entering a woman’s change room as a man. Thee are NOT a trans woman nor biological woman, and does not identify as either. So he was illegal in there point blank"

ok so what officially qualifies you as officially having identified as a woman? do you just have to say it out loud once, think it once?

what if you do so in an obviously mocking or disingenuous way, who are we to judge another's intent based on our interpretations of their emotional state? maybe "sounding disingenuous" is just how they communicate due to autism and lacking proper social cues, how bigoted to assume someone "doesn't really mean it"
