Apparently Chris Person of Aftermath got caught leaving a favorable comment on that Flora Merigold article before deleting it. Whether that amounts to actively "running cover" for Geller is a bit dubious, at least to the extent of my knowledge, but I am side-eyeing anyone who read that article and didn't go "Hey, this is at least adjacent to rape apologism." There's apparently some other Aftermath writers whose names are getting thrown out there, but I'm not sure what they did.

I just want to get this off my chest.

I live with my best friend. We're both young men and we love DC. But throughout this Lanterns series, he's been an insufferable hater of Hal Jordan. He would not stop calling Hal a bad person. He agreed with co-writer Vanessa Baden Kelly when she said Hal was 'a little racist'. He laughed when nobody showed up to Hal's funeral.

And now, in the finale when Hal's house got burned and he fell over unconscious holding Earl, my friend cheered and said "serves you right" to the screen. I honestly couldn't take it anymore at that point and I turned around and punched him in the face. Seriously, how could someone cheer watching another man and his innocent pet get burned alive? Anyway, we didn't even finish the episode after that. I wrapped my hand up and watched the rest alone.

The next morning he came down when I was having coffee and asked if I had an apology for him. I honestly was still upset so I just quoted Hal Jordan and said "Do you want some pancakes? You came all this way for an apology you're not gonna get, so might as well at least get something to eat.".

He stormed out and we haven't spoken since. It's been days now. I just wanted to get this off my chest with some fellow Lanterns fans. I'm sick of the way they treated Hal, and the way fans treat him as well. Even if those fans are my closest friends.

The fact we haven't banned DLSS 5 has nothing to do with AI boosters, it's to do with the downstream effects of such a ban. We already have developers using it, the NBA 2K devs as the example off the top of my head. If this was roundly and completely rejected by developers we could ban it without worry, but if they actually use it then we get stuck in an impossible situation. Imagine we get Witcher 4 or The Last of Us, part 3 using DLSS 5. If we had banned it entirely, we're now stuck either having to ban a MASSIVE release, which would do harm to the community as a whole, or we're stuck bending the rules for said release, and we get taken to task for hypocrisy and not following our own rules.



The downstream effects of any policy need to be considered when crafting it and a full DLSS 5 ban would put us in an impossible situation. So while I'd very much like to do it, and I imagine everyone else would too, the potential downstream consequences are really bad. So we make a containment thread because nobody likes that shit, but also we can't outright ban it without real problems.
