No, becase I'm not Indy. I'm "some guy". I play games to be someone else, and for games with complex developed characters, 3rd person is better. 1st person is usually used for silent protagonists, "left to player's imagination" protagonists, etc. or custom characters.

To me, this is like watching a movie where the camera represents the protagonist's look instead of filming them. Or reading a book written as if it was my diary written in realtime. It's weird. I get games are not movies or books, but the rules of storytelling are similar. I can be immersed in a movie or a book and emphatize with the characters, but it's not like I want to pretend to be in a Star Trek holodeck where everything is happening to me personally.

I'll try out this game, I liked their previous titles and I like fps games, but it is a strange decision to me. I never wanted to *be* Indiana Jones, I wanted to watch or play him in his new adventure. Now I get to see his hands use his whip, so that's something I guess.

I'm sorry. That is very difficult to go through. I hope you're able to make it work in the long run, however that plays out.

I am bipolar type 2, and while I am not overly destructive or anything with my behavior, it can be a lot for my partner to deal with at times. Hypomania can come in the form of high bursts of energy or cheerfulness, often with flight of ideas and rapidly talking, that can be difficult for her to handle. I also have a tendency to try and handle my depression on my own.

Luckily I was able to find a medication that serves multiple purposes - it also serves as an anti-seizure and anti-migraine med which I need - so I have reason to stay 100% adherent to it. With it, I'm also a lot more consistent with my moods and emotions.

Topamax / Topiramate. It's primary use is for seizures and migraines, but it has off label use for Bipolar too. In addition to preventing the aforementioned seizures, and significantly reducing migraines, it has mellowed me out pretty significantly. It was a good choice too as I was not suicidal during my depressive episodes, and everything just kinda leveled out overall. As an added bonus, it has prevented a number of unnecessary dissociation swaps too.

Basically a miracle drug for me, despite a few side effects. Your mileage may very, however, as I know many did not tolerate as well as I did.

A lot of bipolar meds also are anti-seizure meds, and vice versa, so this can come in handy for those who deal with both.

I don't believe I was dismissing their concerns but I'm sorry if it was taken that way and seen as such. That wasn't my goal.

My goal was to point out that antisemitism is everywhere, even in progressive/leftist/liberal spaces, and that it's horrible that there is no reprieve from it. I worry that folks will run with it to say that the far-right and far-left are the same while ignoring all the moderate/Liberal spaces that are just as full of antisemitism. It needs to be combated in every space at all times.

Can we not "well actually" Jewish community members about their experiences and concerns with observable anti semitism amongst left wing activists and commentators? I don't want to take away from the antisemitism discussion, but this touches on my conversation about ableism. I've gotten into too many arguments on this forum from people who think it's okay to make ableist jokes and insults because it's someone we don't like. They don't seem to care that the people they make those comments about are never going to see them, but disabled (and Jewish) members will, and those are the ones who will be hurt by it.

A very easy and straightforward way to put it is that the staff (rightfully) shut it down really quick and firm when a few people purposely misgendered Ezra Miller because they are a bad person and somehow don't deserve to have the right gender attributed to them. The message that those members sent is that treating marginalized people as human beings is a privilege you can take away when you wish, and that's so harmful to other members of those communities.
