I don't know. Telling women they are "birthing persons" or "womb-havers" is pretty demeaning. Also, the slow, steady erosion of women spaces and women safety to the altar of "trans rights" and "inclusiveness" have its limits for even lefty people. I got a new job and I can afford going to the gym now which is conveniently right by my job.

I'm fat.

I'm also on the spectrum.

There's a million apps that charge money monthly. I don't really want to do that.

I don't want to get a personal trainer. Not because I'm cheap, but because I'm kinda embarrassed about how I look at the gym so I don't want someone closely watching me when they probably don't want to but have to because that's their job.

There's a million websites that offer way to much information and to be quite honest, it seems like an interesting subject but, being how I am (obsessive about subjects), I can't really draw my attention away from the subjects I'm focusing on for work.

I just want to know if there's a place where maybe I sign up, I look at their pretty ads, and it's basically just tells me the exact exercises I need to do to achieve my goal, on what days, and maybe shows how to do them.

Or maybe if someone has their own personal workout routine they'd be willing to share?

Any suggestions?

Like I'm not sure where it's lost in translation but that's my body, and the body of a not-so-insignificant amount of members here. Spat at, treated as so vile that one would need to wash their mouth out simply from having seen it. There is no degree of separation and there is no speaking to it being a thing of the past because, while you may not see a feature release do the same anytime soon, that reaction to our bodies is still extremely common in society. Not simply disliked, but rejected to the point where they are up for debate on whether they should even be allowed to exist. That is what banning healthcare results in right. So it's not so much that the scene in Ace Ventura is a thing of the past, rather it's an element of the past with a direct line to how trans bodies are seen and treated today.

How a central pillar of transphobia rests upon the fact that trans women *don't exist* as we are all men pretending to be women to seduce or assault others. To be fair, the criticism of avatar bets started with an aggressive suggestion to outright ban them, which we're not likely to do simply because more people enjoy them than not, and it's one of the few quick activities members can do that requires little oversight and organization and have some fun. In response folks are simply teasing about "no fun allowed" in response.

I don't really have a dog in this fight (other than currently being part of the Zelda avatar bet, obviously - but for me that's just honoring my commitment, not some ideology).  And to be frank I'm not sure I totally agree with [USER=71083]construct[/USER]'s position on this, either.

But the moment I saw their comment being taken to a satirical extreme, I knew it wouldn't be well received.  Quite honestly I thought it might be clamped down on, given the nature and purpose of this thread.  But are we all that surprised that after two staff members join in, [USER=71083]construct[/USER] is feeling aggrieved?  And perhaps others who expressed (or held, without expressing) the same view, are less likely to participate in the future?

Maybe not everything is supposed to be taken seriously; but this is the community feedback thread, surely there's an understanding that it needs to be a safe space to make suggestions without fear of any kind of reprisal - even something as minor as teasing.  And that power imbalances are even more at the forefront of everyone's minds here, than elsewhere.

Several users have posted over the past few days that they feel staff need to be held - sometimes, perhaps unfairly - to a higher standard.  Others have observed that staff posts can set the tone for others to join in.

In the interests of good relations and fostering a healthy sense of 'speaking up', I would politely suggest that applies to this thread more than most.  If you're a teacher or someone's boss, there's some things you simply don't joke about, even to a pedantic degree - and especially not in the classroom or boardroom.

I know some will think this is making a mountain out of a molehill.  I don't think anyone posted in bad faith.  And personally, I didn't take the joshing about avatars as anything other than jokes.  But I also knew [USER=71083]construct[/USER] would, and that others might look at what happened, and come away less inclined to participate in this thread.  That has to be a bad thing for all of us.
