We went in for the sit-in in the administration building and the president came up right behind us, had a talk right then and there. It was mostly a conversation about how he "hears us" and "see us". Later on, he invited us into the conference room for a debate. And y'all, I'm so fucking angry. He admitted that he protested South African apartheid back in the 80's, but now he's acting as if divestment is an implausible order for the university. How is economic and political pressure not viable? Moreover, he's pretending that the university cannot terminate and boycott vendor contracts with HP, Caterpillar, Siemens, etc while playing a centrist role where he referred to Palestinians as "Hamas" (he got offended when I called him out) and defended Israel. Just like any capitalist, he believes that companies can operate on "good" and "bad" terms; of course, apartheid/genocide is too much of a "complex" issue that pales in comparison to the importance of profit! And then he kept repeating that we were having a scholarly conversation like go fuck yourself, dickhead.

Currently sitting outside the office while he's in another meeting. Hoping for another confrontation. We ain't going anywhere.

Thanks to the General Not For Profit Corporation Act in Illinois, public institutions like the university that I go to can designate a separate corporate entity that controls all financials (including investments), thereby giving them an excuse that they're absolved of all involvement and cannot achieve any divestment whatsoever. Is there any way to counter this? All information that I look up for my school's foundation is kept intentionally vague (and the president knows that). It's obvious that they're both intrinsically connected and it's frustrating.

They could divest from South Africa because it didn't have any major companies and blocked international companies fairly significantly until the last days, Israel is completely tied into the modern global economy.

It's not shady for the university to set up a foundation to handle its financial decisions because that way it doesn't have to hire people to do the investments for it. And it's invested like every major corporation into standard mutual funds and so on, it literally can't divest from major corporations. He thinks he's uncovered some secret that they're "intrinsically connected" when that's the entire fucking point.

Guy could have learned about all of this, found out if there were any BDS managed funds and presented them to the president. Instead he went in there and bitched and bitched because he thought a university president was this all powerful god who controls everything rather than a meaningless bureaucrat whose job is to glad hand donors and other politicians. I'm sure many people's pissed off about are likely to be cheaters, and Arrowhead would need to get Valve involved in and issue a ban which is a lot of hassle to do when they can ban a cheater if they have a PlayStation account, and it's same with all other publishers.

Having said that, we all have cons and pros, but I think it would be better if there's no cheater

Then don't enable the cross-play in the settings but it's there to help the game and your own experience as it's a game dependent on community working together. There is no competitive or platform advantage so I do not see why anyone would care what platform the other player is on. Do PC players using an NVIDIA GPU not want to play with AMD GPU users? Do you want to disable people with Steam Decks from playing with you if you are on a Windows PC?
