Ok, this is now reaching levels of harassment I'm no longer ignoring. So 2 responses here:

1: I was in the Dragon Age-thread earlier when others had posted about the Skill Up-review and nobody mentioned that it was a banned source. I was away a couple hours, someone in a Discord-chat posted it and I watched it. I returned to the thread here on Resetera to talk about the bad voice acting and writing in that scene I saw, and suddenly YOU hit me with "omg, how can you post a banned source!". From earlier, I had assumed Skill Up was an allowed source. Immediately, I edited my posting to remove the Skill Up-content.

2: I haven't responded to this thread because multiple people instantly attacked me in the worst way for a posting where I called out a racist chud. Instead of acknowledging that, you chose to focus on ONE word I used. And I still wouldn't know what other word to use. There was zero ill-intent. I didn't respont, because you had already chosen to interpret my sentence in the worst ways possible. So let me be clear:

I wrote that I don't like some of these modern designs.

What you guys turned this into:
- he hates ALL these designs!
- he hates LGBT people!
- he wants to remove these designs/forbid them from existing!

And guess what: None of that is true. There was one user that even claimed "there is never a valid reason to dislike these designs". What an utter piece of bs. I was talking entirely on the visual/aesthetic enjoyment I receive from seeing a design, and that is 100% subjective and for everyone to decide for themselves. For example I don't like the Fable-heroine's design. But I don't go on a tirade to call her "ugly" or that she should be changed or anything. It's simply my subjective perception that I don't like that specific design. And that is valid, because I didn't choose to not like the design, it just is so. You don't get to make rules for what designs can and cannot be liked, that would be absolutely insane. Wanna know what designs I also dislike? Pretty much all of those big-boobed dolls that the chuds always want to replace female characters with. So stop trying to put me in some group that I don't belong, thank you.

If the term "modern designs" is forbidden on Resetera, then tell me what better alternative to use, because, again, there was zero ill intent. I don't think saying "inclusive designs" would be a good term, as I've seen some people say, because we shouldn't want to connotate "not traditionally attactive" with "inclusion", that'd be rather insulting imo. But you make the rules, so whatever the prefered term is, okay.

This will be my last posting in the thread. Hadn't planned on posting again after people immediately, and for days, tried to get me banned for one term that had no ill-intent, in a posting where I called out a racist chud. Sorry.

The problem I find with reviews is that they tend to spoil a bit too much for my own liking. That is just my own personal view for reviews nowadays. A few years ago they did not go into too much with spoilers. I like to go into games I most likely will be getting blind and not knowing too much. Especially if it's a series I've played all the games before the new one releases.

I just watch trailers and read a ton of info about the games. I tend to stick to the franchises / series I'm used to and don't branch out much nowadays. Plus I wait for sales and if I wasted money, at least it wasn't full price.

No judgment for how other people choose on how they purchase games, I just have my own way of doing it.

The review scale is getting so squished it's gonna pop. The difference between 83 and 86 is a gap big enough to separate Starfield from Silent Hill 2. 

I'm a big proponent of "different games are different", but it feels like for big single-player releases, the sub-80 range is reserved for specifically making a deliberate statement. If you are just sorta meh on one of these, then you drop an 80, because its obvious that a lotta people worked real hard on the game.
  

I think the last "big" single-player game that fell under 80 was Outlaws? Which was a titanic misfire. And it's still sitting at 75.

Reviews should be a 4 or 5 point scale with no half points.
